Community Guidelines

Last updated 16 October 2026

Yap freely, but don't make Yapper worse for everyone else. These rules apply everywhere on Yapper: servers, DMs, group chats, profiles, emojis and voice.

Don’t

  • Share anything sexual involving minors. Zero tolerance. Accounts are removed and we report it to the authorities.
  • Post porn, hentai or other sexual content. Yapper isn’t a place for adult content, and images are checked automatically.
  • Harass, bully, threaten or stalk people, or encourage others to.
  • Attack people for their race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, gender, sexuality, disability or similar.
  • Share someone’s private information (address, phone number, photos, etc.) without their permission.
  • Promote violence, terrorism or violent extremism, or glorify real-world attacks.
  • Encourage self-harm or suicide. If you’re struggling, please reach out to someone you trust or a local helpline.
  • Scam, phish, spread malware, or try to get people’s passwords or money.
  • Spam - mass messages, mass friend requests, fake accounts or raiding servers.
  • Pretend to be someone else - including Yapper staff.
  • Sell or promote illegal things, like drugs or weapons.
  • Post stuff you don’t have the rights to, like pirated content.
  • Get around a ban with another account.

Server owners

You run your server. Set clear rules, use roles, read-only channels, slowmode and bans, and remove content that breaks these guidelines. Servers built around breaking these rules will be removed.

Reporting

See something that breaks these rules or the law? Email hello@yapper.website with where it is (server and channel, or a screenshot) and what’s wrong. In a server, you can also tell its moderators.

What happens

Depending on how serious it is, we may remove content, give a warning, or suspend or delete accounts and servers. The full rules are in our Terms of Service.
